Ashley and I have been friends for the last few years. She asked me to mentor her when she wanted to dive into newborn photography, but she quickly decided studio type shoots weren’t for her and got into lifestyle photography instead. Still, we’ve kept in touch, and when she asked me to do this family session for her, I was honored. It’s always special when another photographer asks you to do a session!

Emmalyn, Ashley’s daughter, was probably used to just doing her own thing for photos—since Ashley is a lifestyle photographer—so I just let her play and only posed her here and there. Tony (Dad) wasn’t much for pictures, but he was a good sport for Ashley, and we got some good images.

This is an aloha session for Ashley and the family. They are moving to Kentucky courtesy of the military, and Ashley wanted to capture one last session on the beach before they left.
