There truly is nothing stronger or more beautiful than the love of a parent. Sometimes I hear older generations comment about how over-the-top the younger generations are with their kids, doing gender reveals, cake smashes and birthday photo shoots, but my guess is that they felt the same way as young parents—if given the chance, they probably would’ve gone all out with these recent trends and celebrations, too. I think it’s impossible for a parent to try to contain the joy that their kids bring them. I always love seeing new parents come into my studio with sleepy eyes but unfading smiles. Nothing could compare to the happiness that comes with the arrival of a new baby.

The Epitome of Perfection

This session was no different. This sweet baby boy was the epitome of perfection. He looked like a handsome little angel snoozing away in his cuddly basket, completely unaware that we were documenting his first few days of life. I even snuck in a quick picture of him opening his eyes to see what was going on right before he gave me the sweetest sleepy yawn and slipped back into his peaceful slumber. I love that his parents kept everything simple so that I could capture his adorably tiny features. Their baby boy will continue to grow right before their eyes, but they will always have these portraits to look back on and remember just how tiny those toes were!

At one point, we used some travel boxes as props that said, “Fly the world!” across the side. I have a feeling that as soon as this little one is able to keep his eyes open and explore, he will do just that, even if it begins in a pretend airplane in his backyard. Adventure awaits, little one!
