Have you ever looked at the photos of people inside the frames you buy at the store? They are usually so photogenic that they make the frame look even more appealing, tempting you to display your own pictures in them. Well, I’m pretty sure these two lens-loving kiddos would sell all the frames with their contagious smiles and adorable poses on the shelves. I could not get enough of their cuteness during this family photo shoot on the shores of Waimanalo Beach.
A Sweet Opportunity
I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to photograph the Gould family twice in the last few years—and they are not even from Oahu! They came to visit and both times and asked me to capture their family. I love the experience of recapturing families over several years because I get to see from an outsider’s perspective how much they have grown and blossomed. My hope is that the families get to see and document the growth, too, through the pictures that I take.
The lighting and colors were gorgeous in this shoot. It was a perfect evening with some partly cloudy skies. Huge fluffy clouds came our way and blessed us with their presence in the background of these pictures. We were also able to utilize so much of the Waimanalo and Bellows Beach areas filled with intricate driftwood and diverse types of scenery. In a couple of the pictures, it looks like there is a dense forest in the background. This might be one of my favorite locations with its remarkable scenery.
But my some of my favorite photos from this shoot are the candid ones—the ones with the kids playing and laughing together and their parents relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. You can easily see that love and happiness abounds with this adventurous family. Being able to see them again and see how much their kids have grown was such an honor!
What a joy it is being an Oahu Family Vacation Photographer! Getting the opportunity to work with amazing families just like the Goulds is such an honor!
