Baby laelia was such a joy to photograph for her one year & cake smash photos. First, we took some portraits of her before things got messy. Her little red dress and her smile just lit up the room! She was happy as could be smiling for the camera in her own little photo shoot—she grinned up at us as if to say, “I am a big girl now!” I couldn’t get over how poised and polite she was during the session! What a sweetie.

A Tutu Fit for a Princess

This was one of the cutest cake smashes that I have witnessed. When it came time for her cake smash, her pink tutu coordinated perfectly with the pink and gold theme her mommy had wanted. At first, she was a little hesitant, unsure of what she was supposed to do with the beautiful pink cake. Then she began to explore. Laelia tried to hold it, but it was too heavy, so she took a little glob of icing and dabbed it on her face like makeup. As a little bit touched her tongue she realized how tasty it was, picked up her spoon and began to eat!

But what really took the cake was when she bent down to give her cake a hug and a kiss at the end—how cute!

Baby Laelia was such a happy little cake smasher, and I truly love doing these sessions for parents. I know how fast the phase goes and that they don’t want to miss a thing. Plus, I never get tired of seeing how one-year-olds will react to having their first cake. You really never know what might happen!

What a joy it is being a Honolulu Cake Smash Photographer! Little Laelia was so much fun working with. The only thing sweeter than her cake was her smile!
