I met the Washington family last year when I did their Christmas portraits, and at the time, Mom told me that she was pregnant and wanted to do some maternity photos in the future. I was so excited!

Their little daughter was just so cute, and I knew she would make a great little model next to Mom’s belly. And oh was I right—she was just amazing! Mom and Dad made for pretty darn amazing models, too—aren’t they just beautiful?

The evening was a bit windy but still perfect. I took Mom out into the forest (as I like to call it) to take some shots of her, and the light came through to give us some gorgeous warmth at just the right time. She looked so lovely in the lace dress I brought for her to wear. (I have a few, so don’t be afraid to ask to borrow them!)

Speaking of clothes, Mom brought a really adorable open cardigan to wear over her bathing suit top. She found it at Charlotte Russe for $5! I was super impressed—it’s nice not to have to spend a fortune to find things to wear at your maternity session!
