I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the Smock family for the past three years, and now, I’m so sad to say that this was their final shoot before bidding the islands goodbye.
Still, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful evening in West Oahu for that farewell. The sunset was electrifying, and the sky was gorgeous. This was especially wonderful because we’d had to cancel the session a few times because of weather conditions. But this evening turned out to be the perfect backdrop for their Aloha session, so it all worked out in the end.
And, of course, I adored photographing the boys as they played in the sand and somehow managed not to get totally soaked from the crashing waves that kissed their tiny little feet and legs. Although the youngest was shy at first, he loosened up when he took to his big brother’s lead, and we managed to capture a smile from both of them as they interacted with and played with each other in front of the camera.
Smock family, I’m so sad to see you leave, but I hope that if you ever find yourselves on the islands again, you will look me up again!
