I was thrilled to get to work with the Ono family for a family session out on the windward side of Oahu. It was amazing to have three generations of family members all together to celebrate love and family.
I was first contacted by Kacey, the youngest of the kids, to set up a big family session. Of course, I was totally on board—and even more excited when I got there to see how organized they all were. Each little family had dressed in their specific color schemes, from Grandma and Grandpa all the way down to the youngest of the bunch, little Nixon.
With so many different family members of varying ages and personalities, there were plenty of characters to balance. But they all clearly shared their love and support in common, and they worked hard to coordinate the image of their unified family clan. Their obvious affection and fondness for each other goes beyond personalities and even generations, and it was amazing to see that moment of togetherness happen right in front of my eyes—and my camera. Some of them had even come from out of state, but they wanted to be part of documenting these memories while they were here.
Of course, in addition to the most beautiful family, we had a gorgeous backdrop. The windward side of Oahu never disappoints. Mother Nature has a transcendental beauty, which is especially on display here, encompassing us with ocean water, fine sand, beautiful trees, and gorgeous mountains.
Ono family, thank you for asking me to be part of your family memories! It was a pleasure to work with all of you and get to know you, and it was a joy to deliver these lasting memories through photographs that I hope will hang in your homes for years to come.
