What a treat it was to connect with the Han family while they visited Oahu! We had a beautiful night out on the west side of the island, filled with tears and smiles as well.

I was almost afraid that we wouldn’t be able to go through with the session because of the weather forecast for the evening. It was supposed to rain on us, but thankfully, it only sprinkled a bit. The cloud cover actually provided a great diffuser for the light—a perfect, awe-inspiring backdrop with a beautiful family as my subjects to polish the whole thing off.

Because I get to photograph many families on vacation, I am often part of a lot of excitement and family memories. But this session was made even more special when Mom told me just a few days before the session that they were expecting their 2^nd baby! I can’t think of a better place than a beach on Oahu to capture that special moment so they could announce their good news to the rest of the family.

Of course, I did say that there were a few tears during this session, and those came courtesy of the Han family’s little boy. He wasn’t a huge fan of the photos, but we were able to snag some cute shots of him smiling all the same. I couldn’t live without the crying shots, either; I love to capture those “real” moments too!
