This little girl knew what she wanted. With her eyes on the prize and a look of determination, she dove into that beautiful pink and purple cake. It was like she had been waiting her entire 12-month life for this moment. I couldn’t help but chuckle as this sweet little girl took one tasty bite after another. I haven’t captured a child who dove right into the cake with such eagerness for a few weeks. She literally took the cake! What a cutie.
Tutu’s, Pearls, and a Sweet Little Girl
Holly’s mom wanted some color without going to heavy on the props, so we kept the backdrop simple with white beadboard and a cute birthday banner. For a more natural feel, we used a wood flooring base which paired well with the bright pink and purple cake. Holly wore an adorable tulle tutu and layered pearl necklace with a matching headband. With no shirt, she was free to dig in as she pleased.
This age is so much fun. They are so animated and use their entire little bodies to express themselves. I love Holly’s bright eyes and surprised face and she throws her hands in the air with glee. Even her tiny toes wiggle with happiness. I do a lot of cake smashes, but every one-year-old has his or her unique personality. I enjoy watching them: some are observant and timid, others are dainty and careful, while others like Holly can’t wait to get started. She couldn’t hide her excitement if she wanted to.
I know that Holly brings immeasurable joy to her family, and I wish this sweet baby the very happiest of birthdays.
