Dan and Fea had booked a family session with me at the Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens in Kaneohe, and we were so excited to update their pictures! Of course, the weather wasn’t quite as excited as we were.
When we checked the weather, we saw that the forecast called for a 40% chance of rain—but in Hawaii, that might just mean a few clouds in the sky; you never can tell. But when we got there, it was pouring rain—and I mean it was coming down in buckets!
But we had both driven over 45 minutes to get to the location of the session, so we certainly did not want to just throw in the towel. We waited, and then we started to walk toward the lake to hide under the huge trees for some shelter. Once we reached the lake, the rain had slowed enough for us to get situated and grab a few family poses, and I actually really loved how the low-lying clouds in the background turned out!
Of course, it was also very fun to get some pictures of just Dan and Fea together. They have been together for many years and wanted to get some anniversary pictures of just the two of them, and I loved being able to see them connect and just be in the moment. Look at these lovebirds!
Thank you again, Dan & Fea, for allowing me the honor of updating your family photos. And thank you for braving the weather with me—it was quite the adventure!
