Baby Catelyn is just about to turn one, and what better way to celebrate than with a cake smash photo shoot?

Mom brought an absolutely gorgeous cake from Liliylicous, but Catelyn didn’t seem too keen on the idea of smashing it when we first started. Sometimes that happens. So, Mom and I gave her some time, sang a few songs, and re-visited the cake a few minutes later—and Catelyn went for it!

She was just the cutest little cake smasher—she absolutely did not want to make a mess. She wasn’t keen on touching the cake or the frosting, so I gave her a spoon to ease the fears she had about touching the icing itself. At one point, she got her foot in the frosting by accident (Mom and I just loved that photo), and she was NOT thrilled about having frosting between her toes.

Thank you, Holly, for bringing Catelyn to me! I loved being able to capture such a special milestone in her life—and I certainly had a blast with you both!
