I love the Koons family! They are another of my many, many favorite families that I have the privilege of photographing. I first met them last year when they got to the island, and I was able to capture their son, TJ, for Valentine photos. I have been able to watch TJ grow over the last year and capture it all for them, so I was SO excited when Mom texted me back in December and told me, “I’M PREGNANT!”

When I asked her how far along she was, she replied with, “I don’t know. I just found out.”

“What do you mean you just found out?” I asked. “Like you just took the test?”

“Yes, I have not even told Tim yet!” she replied.

I seriously could not believe that she had not even told her husband! She wanted to let me know first so she could hold her spot for newborn and maternity photos!

For the session itself, we set out to the west side (always the best side) of the island. It was a bit windy, but I was willing to take that over rain—and besides, we had such a gorgeous sky as the sun was going down!

We started out with family shots, which TJ was not really in the mood to do, and ended with some photos of just Mom. I purchased the long cream gown from Sew Trendy for Viktoria, and doesn’t she look gorgeous in it?

The handsome prince Baby Kayden is due in just a few short weeks, and I will have the honor of photographing him as well! We have a few special things up our sleeve for that.
