Luisanna contacted me to capture their engagement photos in order to get some “Save-the-Date” cards out for their wedding. The first thing she wanted to know was how soon I could get them in. They were so eager to get those cards out to let everyone know about their fall wedding next year.
So, a few days later, we met for a Bellows Beach engagement session at sunrise. We thought we might have a bit of rain, but once again, the weather was wrong. We had some beautiful cloud cover which eventually broke—leading to an amazing sunrise! One of Luisanna’s friends make her a Haku (a traditional Hawaiian headdress) that this beautiful bride-to-be wanted to incorporate into the session. The colors in it were just perfect for that morning light!
Dexter and Lana, the family dogs, were another important addition to the session. What a great time we had—just letting them run free, splash in the water, and even pose for a family photo! Sadly, about a week after the session, Luisanna informed me that Dexter passed away. I was torn up. I had just lost my dog three weeks prior, so I certainly shed some tears for sweet Dexter. I was glad I could capture his last days with his family.
Towards the end of the session, we decided to head into the forest area with a little champagne. What fun that was! I loved capturing them just having fun in their element.
I have to say—I LOVED THIS SESSION! Not a lot of things were posed, and this wonderful couple were just absolute naturals in front of the camera. Ryan & Luisanna—thank you for trusting me to capture this moment for you. Congratulations on your engagement!!
