Meredith and Jay were married in a beautiful, intimate ceremony at the Hickam Officer’s Club located on the Air Force Base in Hickam, HI. Present were close family and friends, and they were attended by their three daughters, twins Tatum and Porter and youngest daughter, Hayden. Jay is in the military, and Meredith has been a stay-at-home mom to the girls following Jay through her military career. Due to the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, Meredith and Jay have been raising their children without any aid from the Army. After many years of being in a committed partnership, and after Hawaii legalized same sex marriages, they jumped at the chance to finally be married and recognized federally. My favorite moment was when they did a first look. As you can see from the photos, Jay was shocked to see Meredith all dolled up in her dress. Finally, after all these years, Jay got to see Meredith in a wedding dress! There were so many people involved in the ceremony that were special to the couple. Jay’s friend and colleagues from her unit represented her involvement in the military that day. Meredith’s mom was in attendance, and Meredith had her two best friends as her bridesmaids. The officiant was another colleague of Jay’s and a close friend of the family. You could see the love and respect that everyone had for this special family throughout the whole day! The ceremony was followed by a dinner and reception at the Officer’s Club. It could not have been a more perfect wedding.
