Kini & Kassy were married on December 13, 2014, with a ceremony at Westside Beach and an intimate reception at their beautiful home.

It is not often that I shoot weddings—in fact, I probably only average about 3 a year, and they are usually for really close friends or a client who I may have photographed numerous times. Kassy’s mom, Laura, contacted me to capture this wonderful couple’s special day, and I couldn’t have been more honored and excited. Kassy and I have been friends for years, so I was absolutely honored to do this for her. I feel like they had been engaged FOREVER, so when I learned of their December wedding date, I was thrilled that they were finally going to tie the knot!

Kassy & Kini met some years ago at a club in Waikiki. I still remember when she met him, and how she had such butterflies for this guy just after one evening of dancing. They have two beautiful little girls together, and it was so sweet to see both of the girls at the wedding—the oldest one smiling the entire time as they said their vows.

At the end of the ceremony, I took them to the beach for some private time to capture just them. My gosh, did we have a killer sunset out on the west side! They always say the west side of the island is the best side, and boy, did it live up to that!

After portraits, Kini and Kassy and their family went back to celebrate at their home. It was a perfect wedding day!
