I have been lucky enough to get the opportunity to photograph the Gear family over the last 18 months. I was there when Maura, their daughter, was born, and that was one of my favorite newborn sessions ever! But now they are headed to another adventure, courtesy of the military, and I’m sad to see them go—but I was glad that we got to do one more session together.

We went out to Bellows for their family photos, and this time, the weather cooperated. We had tried to do a session around Christmas time, but we ran into a stretch of bad weather. This time, we had a gorgeous night over on the east side.

Maura was lovely during the session as well. She wasn’t a huge fan of the water, but she sure loved having Mom and Dad swing her in the air as they walked down the beach—and she particularly loved being on Daddy’s shoulders!

The Gear family is just stunning, don’t you think? I’m really going to miss them. Gear family, please try and book a winter vacation out here so you can escape that East Coast snow! I’d love to see you all again.
