The worst part about being a photographer in Oahu is that most of my families are only here for a short time, and this was the case for the Das family. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph their first baby and a cake smash for her as well as maternity, newborn, and cake smash photos for their second daughter and multiple family sessions. So, it was bittersweet to be called to do their final aloha session.
I couldn’t believe it when Gretchen told me that they were leaving in just a few short months and needed one last family session! We decided to get some sunshine and a warm glow for their final photos, so we headed out to the west side of Oahu.
Pippa, their oldest daughter, finally smiled for me! (It only took me three years!) And Winnie, their youngest, had such a blast playing in the sand and just being all-around pleasant. It was close to Winnie’s bedtime, so Mom was worried, but she pulled through!
Of course, I was sure to get Mom and Dad alone at the end for a few photos together. You’d never know there was a toddler running after us as we tried to escape down the beach!
Das family, thank you for the last 3 years of friendship! Please keep in touch! I can’t wait to photograph your family if you come visit Hawaii!
