Sweet little baby Amelia was born the day after Christmas—what a gift! I was able to get her into my studio just about 9 days after she was born at Tripler Army Medical Center at almost 10 pounds, and she was just so cute!

I have known this family for the past 2 years, and I captured Harper (big sister) when she was born. Then, Mom called me this summer to let me know she was expecting another daughter around Christmastime. We did her maternity photos in early October and then played the waiting game to see when little Amelia would make her holiday entrance. We were so excited!

Let me tell you, when Amelia did come for her session, she didn’t want anything to do with sleeping. We had to get creative and tried to wrap her into a deep slumber, but even that didn’t work. All she wanted was to see the world and see what I was doing. We finally managed to get her to sleep for a short catnap, during which we grabbed the images of her on her daddy’s uniform and in the princess carriage.

And then there was cute little Harper—just 18 months old and so excited to be a big sister! She was just thrilled to take pictures with her new sister, and I think she did pretty darn well for her first time holding Amelia!
